  • The next Australasian Universities Language and Literature Association (AULLA) Conference will be held at the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, on 7–11 July 2015. The theme will be ‘Literary Networks.’ This conference marks a new departure for AULLA in that it will be held in conjunction with two other associations that have interests in the same broad area: the Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL) and the Australasian Association for Literature (AAL).   • In a broad sense, the story of Melusine is well-attested in European literature and folklore. Depending on just how broadly one considers the story, it has analogues in a wide range of narratives that involve mermaids, undines and water-spirits in a number of languages and cultures. More narrowly considered, the story of Melusine enters European literature with the French version of Jean d’Arras, written sometime between 1382 and 1394.
