Tín ngưỡng thờ hổ của người Việt hiện nay

Abstract

Nhiều nguồn tài liệu cho biết, tín ngưỡng thờ hổ của các dân tộc trên thế giới nói chung và Việt Nam nói riêng dựa trên nền tảng của tín ngưỡng tô tem. Bài viết này đề cập đến quan điểm và các dạng thức thờ hổ của người Việt qua không gian tại hạ ban trong di tích thờ Mẫu và điện thờ tại nhà pháp sư, thay phù thủy. Thờ hổ là một hình thức tiếp biến văn hóa của Đạo giáo phái Chính Nhất đạo sau khi du nhập vào nước ta đã được người Việt cải biên từ một loại hình sùng bái linh vật (tô tem) thành tín ngưỡng dân gian thờ hổ gắn với không gian thiêng, thực hành nghi lễ, ma thuật, bùa chú. Đồng thời, hổ vừa mang tính biểu tượng cho sức mạnh, quyền uy, vừa mang yếu tố tâm linh, văn hóa nên việc sùng bái hổ như một vị thần và đến nay vẫn được duy trì thực hành nghi lễ, ma thuật, bùa chú.

According to many sources, the tiger worship of ethnic groups in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular based on the foundation of Totem beliefs. This article discusses the views and forms of tiger worship by Vietnamese people through the space of the Mother Goddess Worship relic and the shrine in the house of the shaman and sorcerer. Tiger worship is a form of cultural assimilation of the Chinh Nhat Dao sect of Taoism after being introduced into Vietnam, and the Vietnamese people have transformed it from animal worship (totem) into the folk belief of tiger worship associated with sacred space, practicing rituals, magic, and spells; at the same time, the tiger was both a symbol of strength and authority with spiritual and cultural elements. Therefore, the worship of tigers as a god has been maintained in the practice of rituals, magic, and spells.
