Abstract: Brao is an ethnic groug with a very small population in Vietnam. The mother tongue of Brao belongs to the Western Bahnaric group, Bahnaric sub-branch, of Mon-Khmer branch in the Austro-Asiatic language family. This study describes the characteristics of the initial consonant system of Nung Ven language spoken in Đăk Mế village, Bờ Y commune, Ngọc Hồi district, Kon Turn province, Vietnam, from a synchronic perspective
