Abstract

This article aims to explore the theoretical foundations for compiling translation dictionaries between Vietnamese and ethnic minority languages to determine the requirements and solutions for compiling a Hà Nhỉ - Vietnamese and Vietnamese - Hà Nhì translation dictionaries in Vietnam. While translation dictionaries between Vietnamese and ethnic minority languages have some progress, there still remain unresolved issues that need to be researched. These dictionaries have distinctive characteristics, particularly in terms of macro and microstructure.
