Abstract: Various methods have been employed in English language teaching, and language games have been identified in previous research as effective for vocabulary instruction. However, there is a lack of studies which investigate the efficacy of language games in teaching English vocabulary, especially at the secondary education level in Vietnam. Hence, this study was initiated to further demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of employing language games as a vocabulary teaching method for 6th-grade students. This research aimed to investigate the benefits and drawbacks, and current practices of integrating language games into teaching vocabulary for 6th graders. The study employed a mixed-methods research design, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. The qualitative aspect involved semi-structured interviews after teachers applied this method. Additionally, the quantitative component involved questionnaires to collect students’ viewpoints. The findings showed that both teachers and students had positive viewpoints about the integration of language games in vocabulary teaching.
