  • Tình hình tôn giáo, tín ngưỡng trong cộng đồng người Chăm ở Việt Nam hiện nay

  • Dựa trên các dữ liệu thu thập được từ năm 2019 đến năm 2022, bài viết mang lại một cái nhìn có tính cập nhật và toàn diện về tôn giáo của cộng đồng người Chăm đang sinh sống ở Việt Nam hiện nay. Chúng tôi trình bày về các loại hình tôn giáo, cả thiết chế hóa và phi thiết chế hóa (tín ngưỡng), theo cách tiếp cận Tôn giáo học, với sự tập trung vào các phương diện niềm tin và đối tượng thờ cúng, chức sắc và tín đồ, tổ chức cộng đồng, nghi lễ, và cơ sở thờ cúng. Đồng thời, trên cơ sở lý thuyết khuếch tán văn hóa và tiếp biến văn hóa, bài viết cũng nêu một số nhận định về tình hình đời sống tôn giáo của người Chăm trong thời gian qua.

  • Credit score: Assessing a library course’s association with graduation rates and GPAs for atrisk students at a regional public university

  • This study determined if a library credit course potentially influenced grades and graduation rates at a regional public university. The authors analyzed data from 33,882 undergraduates who attended University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point between 2004 and 2018. To compare grade point averages (GPAs) and graduation rates, the authors separated data into two cohorts: students who passed Library Resources 101 and students who did not take the course. The study found virtually no difference in GPAs. However, students who completed the course graduated 18.5% more frequently than non-completers.   • Using direct and indirect assessments of student learning to refine a science library internship for undergraduates: A case study

  • Science library internships at academic libraries serving diverse student populations may increase the visibility of science librarianship as a career path for undergraduates in the sciences and may help to attract students from diverse backgrounds to the profession. While internships are a “high-impact practice,” there is little direct assessment of student learning in the literature that measures both perceived and demonstrated learning during an internship. The aim of this case study is to describe how librarians at one university library used multiple direct and indirect learning assessments to evaluate and make curricular changes to a science library internship program.

  • Thánh Augustine (354-430) là một nhà thần học và triết học có nhiều ảnh hưởng trong Kitô giáo và triết học phương Tây. Tư tưởng của ông đã có ảnh hưởng sâu đậm đối với thế giới quan phương Tây về sau. Bên cạnh việc nêu khái quát tiểu sử và những tác phẩm tiêu biểu của Thánh Augustine, bài viết chủ yếu giới thiệu một số nội dung cơ bản trong triết học Kitô giáo của ông, như: vấn đề về quan hệ giữa tri thức và niềm tin, về sự sáng tạo và điều hành thế giới của Thiên Chúa, quan niệm hiện sinh hữu thần về phạm trù thời gian, triết lý về thân phận và đạo đức con người, v.v... Qua đó nêu lên ý nghĩa lịch sử, giá trị thời đại và những ảnh hưởng trong lịch sử triết học của nhà thần học trứ danh người Algeria này.

  • Do they know it when they see it?: Natural language preferences of undergraduate students for library resources

  • This study explored the range of undergraduate students’ natural language preferences for library resources when shown verbal and visual representations of those resources. The results indicate little consensus for preferred language although participants generally preferred natural language over library jargon. The majority of participants did not use the same language to describe a resource between the visual and verbal exercises. Furthermore, prior library instruction had no meaningful effect on participants’ language preferences. More research is needed to explore the significance of recurring library instruction on students’ language preferences and if these language preferences impact their ability to complete library research-based tasks.

  • Tracing practice-led research to locate a ‘nature' in remembering Babylon

  • David Malouf's novel Remembering Babylon did not, like Athena, spring fully formed from the head of Zeus. It is equally doubtful that the novel was inspired by some mystic muse. Malouf seems to have employed the scholarly methodology of practice-led research to write Remembering Babylon, gathering information from historical and literary sources, selecting and rejecting specific elements from these sources, then subjecting what he had chosen to his creative imagination. In the afterword, Malouf acknowledges the historical Gemmy Morrell's name and his actual words as the ‘seed of this fiction’ but ‘otherwise this novel has no origin in fact.'

  • Becoming immersed: Using Virtual Reality technologies in academic libraries to expand outreach and enhance course curricula

  • In the fall of 2018, the Binghamton University Libraries purchased Virtual Reality (VR) headsets and accessories to provide an innovative service on campus and extend its outreach. The availability of the technology through the Libraries’ allowed a nursing course to incorporate it into their teaching. The Libraries also hosted monthly VR outreach events and included the technology in a Digital Humanities Research Institute (a four-day intensive workshop). This article explains these uses, describes VR’s ability to be adopted into various learning spaces, and discusses the future integration of VR into course curricula. Limitations encountered and potential challenges are also discussed.

  • Giám sát và phản biện xã hội là chức năng cơ bản của báo chí. Để thể hiện được vai trò giám sát và phản biện xã hội của báo chí, người làm báo cần có khả năng phản biện tốt. Trong môi trường thông tin mở, vai trò giảm sát và phản biện xã hội càng trở nên quan trọng, đòi hỏi người làm báo nâng cao nâng lực hoạt động, trong đó có năng lực phản biện xã hội. Cơ sở và điều kiện của năng lực này là khả năng tư duy phản biện của đội ngũ người làm báo. Bài viết bàn về nâng cao năng lực tư duy phản biện cho người học trong quá trình đào tạo sinh viên chuyên ngành báo chí ở nước ta trong bối cảnh hiện nay.

  • Trên cơ sở phân tích chi rõ sự cần thiết kiên định năm nguyên tắc đổi mới theo tinh thần Đại hội XIII của Đảng trong phát triển đất nước, bài viết đề xuất bốn giải pháp tăng cường kiên định các nguyên tắc này: giữ vững vai trò lãnh đạo, cầm quyền của Đảng, nhận thức sâu sắc, quán triệt triệt để năm nguyên tắc đổi mới; kiên định bản chất khoa học, cách mạng của chủ nghĩa Mác - Lênin, tư tưởng Hồ Chí Minh, quan điểm của Đảng; nắm vững và quán triệt tốt các nguyên tắc phương pháp luận, như khách quan, phát triển, toàn diện, lịch sử - cụ thể, thống nhất giữa lý luận và thực tiễn vào nhận thức, nắm vững và quán triệt các nguyên tắc đổi mới; tăng cường rèn luyện đạo đức cách mạng.
